Twitter and Shakespeare ??!?!?!?!? 'oh really.....'

Three '3' is sponsoring an initiative called Such Tweet Sorrow by The Royal Shakespeare Company and Mudlark. It’s the story of Romeo and Juliet acted out on Twitter in modern day Britain with the twitter community interacting with the actors and getting involved in the story.

News Article ive just read!

The editor of the blog that revealed Apple's prototype 4G iPhone has had his house raided by police...
When it emerged that a technology blog had apparently got its hands on a prototype of the new iPhone, the media storm was such that some people thought Apple may have cooked the whole thing up themselves, for a bit of free publicity. But judging by recent events, that looks increasingly unlikely: US police have raided the house of the blog's editor and confiscated all his computers, with suggestions that he may be charged with a criminal offence. Although you'd be forgiven for being sceptical about the idea that the employee who lost the phone in a local beer garden, after an afternoon on the sauce, really did have it 'stolen'...

This whole saga began back in March, when Apple software engineer Gray Powell apparently lost his whizzy new iPhone - which, as is standard procedure, he'd been allowed to take off the premises for field testing, disguised as a normal 3G version - in a local German-style beer garden (soon after tweeting about how good the lager was). A few weeks later, the person who'd come into possession of the phone sold it to tech blog Gizmodo for $5,000 - which promptly took a load of pictures and broke the story as an exclusive before returning it to Apple (whose letter asking for it back is just about the only official comment they've made about the whole thing).

Now it transpires that on Friday, California police raided the house of Gizmodo editor Jason Chen (who appeared in the video blog about the device) and confiscated six computers, along with various other bits and bobs. The suggestion appears to be that Gizmodo may have broken the law by paying to receive what was effectively stolen Apple property; if so, Chen could go to jail.

We have no idea whether the police did this because Apple complained, or if they pursued it of their own accord after all the coverage. But you have to say it reflects badly on Apple – it just looks like it's using some fairly heavy-handed methods to punish a breach of its precious privacy. Particularly since Gizmodo's owner Gawker is bound to milk this for all it's worth (it's already trying to turn this into a row about whether bloggers are protected by the same 'shield' laws that journalists can use to protect their sources). So whether Apple is involved or not - and we can't see what they have to gain by Chen going to jail - it will be tainted by association.

Besides, the potential charge sounds tenuous to us. The theory that the phone was stolen from Powell would sound a lot more plausible if he hadn’t misplaced it after a night in a German beer hall...

Scary stuff really....

The HTC Hero Review...

Soo I did a twitter quest
a couple of week ago which I was invited to attend, and I had the chance to bring a friend with me and I chose Tarik >
http://whathehellewonders.blogspot.com/ and http://rubypseudochatchat.blogspot.com/

Long story short we won! woop woop with the help of my friend Nellz and Tarik's mate!

We are still currently in the process of sorting out the price but hopefully that will be done very very soonish

Sooooo the HTC Hero phone,
At first I felt like I was selling out to all my nokia and blackberry friends and family. because I have never had a touch screen phone before.

But I must say it did take some time getting used to the HTC Hero.
For example the twitter app - there were no clear instructions on how to reply to individuals via twitter. So I had to go into my local 3 store and ask them how to reply to people and they didn't have a clue either. I was messying around 1day with the phone then I noticed if you held down on a persons name via twitter a number of options appeared and reply was one.

The image quality is one of the best I have seen to be honest too bad there is not flash feature to the phone.

The day I got the phone I had to make a quick dash to Portsmouth. The phone worked prefectly when I was in Pompey. on the way back me and my friend Chris he was kind enuff to drop me home. I tried out the video camera in the car and it worked really well. the sound quality is very good as well.
When I got back home the little and annoying problem started happening for exmaple the network signal - i couldn't find network anywhere : ( which started to get annoying but as any phone novice will know. all you have to do is move around a little and it worked.

One thing I did like about it there was a page purely for SNS's (Social Networking Sites) So i was signed into my facebook, twitter, linked in, blogger < which was pretty cool I must admit. I didn't have to keep loging into the different sites. The style and design is very very slick! 10 stars on that.

So thats my review on the HTC Hero Phone...

Here are some random photo's from the tweeter quest/phone

Say Hi to the guy who lost the NEW iPhone Prototype !!

Gray Powell, a graduate from North Carolina State University and an Apple Software Engineer was out celebrating his birthday at an establishment called The Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City, California. Powell’s responsibilities are to work on the iPhone Baseband Software, which allows the iPhone to make phone calls. On March 18, 2010 the night of his 27th birthday he was at the Redwood City bar celebrating. He was celebrating and even wrote a status message from the iPhone he had on him, “I underestimated how good German beer is.” The phone that he was using was the new iPhone disguised as an iPhone 3G S. And he left that iPhone on a bar stool. Eventually that iPhone found its way into tech blog Gizmodo’s hands at the cost of $5,000 from someone that found it.

The person that sold the lost iPhone to Gizmodo tried playing with the phone he found, but it kept crashing. When he pulled up the Facebook application, Powell’s profile was loaded, confirming that the device belonged to him. Apple bricked the phone remotely using MobileMe so the anonymous person actually open the fake 3G S and found another iPhone within the exterior. Gizmodo reached out to Powell to let him know that they have it and will be giving it back to him. Gizmodo broke the news about the new iPhone and they saw a huge spike in web traffic because of that article. At least 10 million additional views were generated by them breaking the news. [Gizmodo]

Gizmodo even received a legal letter from Apple asking for the device back. “Dear Mr. Lam, It has come to our attention that GIZMODO is currently in possession of a device that belongs to Apple. This letter constitutes a formal request that you return the device to Apple. Please let me know where to pick up the unit.” Signed by Bruce Sewell, SVP and General Counsel of Apple Inc.

Looks like there will be no surprises when the new iPhone is announced. It appears that Powell deleted any traces of finding him on the Internet now. His Facebook account is gone, Flickr account is gone, his Twitter account is gone, and so is his LinkedIn profile. But there are Facebook Pages being created that support Powell for losing the device. The I’m With Powell Facebook page says that 159 people like it and the Save Gray Powell page currently says 11 people like it [Facebook search on Gray Powell].

American Apparel Rummage Riot > everything £1 aka MADNESS

when I saw/heard everything was £1 I laughed

it would just be as hyped as the primark opening down oxford street > just take a look @ it

I personally hate american apparel plain colours overly priced. I have only brought one thing from AP and that was a hoodie and I swore to my self never to go in there again unless their doing another drink up :D (free booze)

But American Apparel went about it all in the wrong way if you ask me!

for example take a look @ the sample sales that happens down brick lane all the time, HYPE never happens!

but thats all folks!

its Good Friday!
